... dune at the end of the day was lots harder.
The third day we headed into Bordeaux. It was so hot, about 37 degrees, but such a beautiful city. We were going to do the 70 minute bus or 60 minute guided train around the city but found a map and decided to do our own tour with Jim reading the map and me taking the photos, perfect.

That night we ate in the campsite restaurant and then headed back to the tent. When we were in bed there was a massive thunder ...

We then attempted another long drive being one of the longest of the contiki to Bordeaux. We had a few memorable stops, one being the QUICK fast food place :P (pretty much maccas) where we shared some jokes about Emily's secret franchise :P. ... we had all had a good time and we probably wouldn't have done the cool things we did if we had stayed somewhere else. Biscarrosse-Plage reminds me a lot of Australia, standing on the beach you can just see sand stretching for miles a bit like Surfers Paradise and this part of the French coast is also well known for surfing. It is also very dry with loads of tall pine trees which reminds me of the Gold Coast hinterland and some of the shops have a real Noosa ...

... or not. The dogs are welcome everywhere, they come on the trams they are welcome to stay in your hotel room with you and they all sit outside with the owners and have their lunch together. Really quite nice to see. It's great being on holiday without having any real pressures of work, or bills or needing to be some where on time. Just a relaxed view is needed, and perhaps a good pair of walking shoes. ...
