... and a van,.. and 2 workmen, arrived. On the side of the van,.. 'Pronto Intervento' which we assume is loosely translated as some sort of Rapid Response Unit. Like all Council work teams,.. they assessed the problem,.. broke out the pick and shovel,.. erected a triangular sign 'Slow Down - Roadworks Ahead',.. pulled the grate on the drain off,.. Then the rain got heavier, so they packed up and left!!! You have got to love 'em!! That night was pretty wild. The storms ...

The title says it all! Today we cycled from Valloire to Briancon over the Col du Galibier (2646m). We then walked to the start of the Col de L'Izoard. where we waited for the Tour de France to arrive. During the 1.5 hours for the riders to get to our location, the sun came out, then it rained then it was cloudy. But that didn't deter any of the crowds, who lined the streets throughout the city to watch the race go past. ...

... of hairpins here, as usual! And if you accidentally went too far off the edge, you would find yourself on the road from the previous hairpin. From about 5km away from the top, the Col finally appeared from around some mountains. The mountains here are really cool, they are all really barren, and lots are all covered in scree. The gradient here ranged from 6-9%.There was also a professional photographer perched by the road. So we will finally have an awesome photo of ...
