Susa Italy was a very cute little town nestled in a valley halfway between Briancon and Turin. We did not spend much time there but since it was the destination of our carpool, we decided to check it out before continuing to Turin. We went to a local restaurant and ate some pizza, and wandered the streets a little bit before heading to the train station.

I'm writing this entry now at 10:30pm because if I don't I never will!! We have been so busy, I don't think we've stopped from the beginning of February, or even before that!! February half term was so busy! It was more crazy than Christmas. I felt like a dish washing machine! Leo and I stayed in the entire week to help Gill cook and I became an expert at baking cakes! My only complaint is that much of the lower areas of the mountain had to artificial snow added to it which made it doable, but not by much. It was solid ice with a fluffy frosting on top that would move with you instead of giving traction. The first couple of falls hurt enough to make the idea of falling again frightful, and being scared to fall tends to result in falling more ...

... and I got to go hors piste, or outside of the slope. The snow was all powder and super deep which made it a lot of fun and made me a lot more comfortable about falling since even my tumbles didn't hurt!
We stayed on this slope for a while until finally taking a chairlift to the mountain on the other side of the resort. This one was quite intimidating on the map as it has nothing but blue and mostly red lines drawn on it! ...
