... are still many columns as well as some interesting mosaics. Even with what remains, there is enough to get a good idea of what the island would have been like in its heyday. The best know sculptures on the island are a row of lions.
We anchored within the Bay of Delos and returned in the afternoon for lunch aboard. After we finished exploring the island, we boarded the yacht and returned to Mykonos for the evening. We went to shore and found a ...
It’s a little cool outside for a party island that is famous for its nude beaches and all-night dance clubs. This is the first time that I wished we were visiting Greece during the tourist season since the town almost feels empty and the beaches deserted.

... am headed there shortly. It's windy and rain clouds are looming. So, probably not going to get to work on that deep, dark, golden tan. Oh well. Maybe in Spain. :)
OH! Have I told you about where I'll be spending my birthday? I found this absolutely adorable agriturismo in southern Sicily that looks wonderful. Here's the site: www.villazottopera.it They're going to give me one-on-one cooking classes and they have a pool and horses and walking trails and all ...
this trip was very special to me,because it was the first one after I finally finished with school and had the freedom to do everything I want, without anybody else controlling me!the only thing I wanted to do is find a nice place with great people to relax and so I did.i met many interesting people and it was a journey to remember!
Naxos, Cyclades, Greece malena.drela... in that item.
Apparently, there were only a few taxi's on the island and one wonders why anyone would take one when two large cruise ships were in town. You see, not only was our ship, the Ruby Princess, carrying 3,100 passengers in port but the Celebrity cruise ship was also in port. There were so many people around the port area that taxi's virtually couldn't move more than a few inches a minute. Hope ...
Took the hydroplane from Santorini to Mykonos. Stayed right on the beach and the cruise ships docked right down the beach. Island topography not as dramatic as Santorini but very nice. Surprised how dry and little vegetation on both islands. Got my whole body in the Mediterranean not just my feet (no pictures of that !!)
Mykonos Town, Cyclades, Greece pathenger... should all pay the landord's mortgage instead of our own), and that we should strike a course that requires Americans to plow their money into taxes to pay for energy and infrastructure improvements instead of directing their money to the mall, as has been our habit. It is hard to see Americans making sacrifices. Nobody under the age of 40 has even known anyone who made sacrifices, let alone made one themselves.
Mykonos Town, Cyclades, Greece voyager-sue... through this process, the real owner comes back and absolutely freaks out....loses his mind, calling our skipper crazy and saying we are going to sink his boat. We eventually squeeze into the spot. (sidenote: I'm shocked at how friendly and helpful people in the boating community are to each other. I guess you have to be, when you are dealing with water, wind, knots, etc...). The crazy guy decided to leave the marina, and everyone was now more relaxed and ready ...
Mykonos Town, Cyclades, Greece laurenandy... and young men alike. But keep in mind lots of men. Around 5 pm something remarkable happened. The music got louder. The tables were no longer occupied by food but instead people. In swimming outfits. Dancing. The alcohol was released. All of a sudden it was a full blown party at 5 in the afternoon! The tequila was out, the people were loud. There was even a 12 year old girl dancing on the tabletop in her little bathing suit which was actually quite disturbing ...
Mykonos, Greece dangerchristophHow on Earth did I get to be so lucky?
My family and I went on a cruise of the Greek Islands. We ate a lot, got sea sick once, soaked up the sun, and absorbed the classically beautiful white and blue colours on the islands. There weren't very much ship activities that my sister and I were interested in but Allyson and I did win a bingo game! Mykonos was by far our favorite island because of its beauty.
