Up at 6am to get to airport to meet Stuart after his marathon flight to Oz. Quick coffee and then back on trains to the hotel. Starts to rain but we head out across the beautiful botanic gardens towards the harbour area. Heavy rain until 3pm but after quick visit to the opera house we shelter for lunch and sparkling at the opera bar with great …

Found the big bus stop nearest the hotel and bought $45 tickets for the city route and Bondi route. Got off at the harbour bridge stop and walked along and up the pylon lookout. Good views of the skyline , bridge and harbour including the opera house. Enjoyed a nice lunch in the darling harbour area. Decided not to get off at Bondi beach as plan to …

Caught public ferry over to Manly beach using our opal cards. Lovely sunny morning and picnic lunch on the beach. Beach closed for swimming but open for surfers. Lazy time watching the surfers and people watching. Electric storm over sydney on return to circular Quay and got a little wet in the rain walking back through the botanic gardens to the …

Caught the train to Bondi junction and a bus to the beach. The coastal path walkway was close to where the bus dropped us off so we started on our way after taking a couple of photos of the beach. The path is an easy 6km walk and there were numerous people walking it, some tourists but mostly locals exercising. The walk passes through a number of …

Left Terrigal at 12 on a train back to the city. Short trip from central to kings cross and a 7 min walk to the hotel. Room with a view over the harbour. Now just waiting for Stuart to arrive.
