... of the centre, returning to integraciao yet again (ughh!!) before finally heading in the right direction, to the beach. Back across the 2 rivers, one of which has an interesting island for sale in the middle, ending up back where I had been 3 hours earlier.
Was happy to finally enter to town and find a place with terrace & hammock that I could stretch to – decided on only one night as hard ...
... station – at least it was cool and the toilets were free but couldn’t find anything I could afford! Do need to start souvenir shopping soon.
Finally left on time and the mother and child were in front not next to me – sadly both were loud and had colds, snorting, sneezing and coughing, without hankies and covering mouths, the whole trip – hideous lack of sleep, despite the earplugs, ...
... and Coke. Checked out email and facebook with the free wifi there...snapped a selfie and other photos. Then we realized we were late for the tour bus and rushed back through the shopping market, grabbed a 10 real bag of locally grown cashews, apologized to the tour guide ( we were 11 minutes late) who frowned at me for the cashew grab and smiled at Dawn, who wanted the cashews. We were then whisked back to the ship. Another great day in ...
... abit late and the water was higher but we really enjoyed the experience of the boat ride. It is such a simple idea but works so well and nice to be on a boat without a roaring noise behind you. It was just a quick visit to Maceió and most of the time was spent at the beach. The next day at the Rodoviaria we were about to board our bus to Salvador and Elin and Marvin turned up. They would be in Salvador at the same time as us which was very exciting ...
... in the water prepared nice caldo de camarão. Didn't find a cheap ride to praia gunga on the other side of the river, so walked back through town stopping at the white bar on the beach for a really cold beer. The party on the beach was unfortunately finished when we got there at about 11 at night, only empty bottles and poeple leaving and i couldn't convince them to go to the other side of the town to find something ...
