Chapter 1 - A bleak beginning...

I don't have anything holding me here, at least not anymore. So I decided to make a few plans: throw my hand up in the air and say "F*ck it! Let's do some stupid sh*t". So after a whirlwind of packing and saying goodbye to everyone on Saturday afternoon I finally made it to the airport a full two hours early for my flight. I was excited to finally be on my way. Piranhas and the Pantanal
... anacondas and other snakes getting near to you - and went to bed. At 6.30 am we got up for breakfast and headed out into the wetlands for a nature walk. We managed to see lots of birds, as well as wild boars and howler monkeys and so headed back for lunch quite content. After lunch we had a fateful game of football that put me out of action for a few days with a blood blister until I could DIY pop it (to Hannah's disgust) before heading out for more wildlife watching ...
