... Mom is making as you read this…).
The worshipers pay homage and take care of the rodents and luckily, the
term “rat” defines more “cute mouse” than the giant NYC sewer types.
Even the Indian tourists are taken aback with this temple and are here
for the spectacle more than the homage. Pointing fingers, jaws agape

Bikaner, Rājasthān, India seorajeshkumar... and anything else that might happen to be around. We did not see the 'auspicious' white kaba, but plenty of rats did run over our feet, giving us some good luck (and a somewhat creepy feeling)! Inside the inner structure lies the sacred room. We weren't too sure of all the goings on, but there was a strange ceremony where hot coals would be brought to this room, a fire stoked within (maybe ...

Bikaner, India buddha_belly... safe ("ta ta! ...bottle?!"). There was a beautiful sunset and then, with the lack of light pollution, I believe the stars put on a stunning show but, lying on my blanket beneath them, eyes screwed tightly closed against the oncoming sand, I was oblivious. I slept heavily and woke at dawn, half buried in sand which had blown into every available nook and cranny: eyes, ears, nose, clothes... On the bright side ...
Bikaner, India fishtails04... for the game of Frisbee we played with them. Yesterday we requested 10 rupees from a boy who was playing a drum and singing atop the sand dunes outside of Jaisalmer after we used his name in a rendition of "Banana fana fo fana." For reasons I do not know he did not seem to enjoy this instance of the tables being turned as much as Brian and I did.
Bikaneer, India bfaulman... all closed. Side Note ----- For some reason, Indian monuments are always in operations only from 9am to 4:30pm. They can open late but they sure as hell close on time. Must be the bureaucracy... Fun with Pickpockets ----- In the early evening we visited the old marketplace where many small stands operate. It is said that pickpockets roamed the area and that often tourists lose valuable possessions to these thieves. I have always been very ...
