... Remember, this is a pretty small island – my lap might have been all of a mile and a half. Along the way, I was able to swim with a Sea Turtle – very cool!

All in all, I did about another three hours in the water, then got ready to check out. My plane wasn’t due until 3:30, so I hung out at one of the bars talking with the staff guys and getting quizzical ...

... nicely. More importantly, I haven’t had any heartburn or lingering issues from the food.
After lunch I lapped the island of Male’ during the local holy day, so no shopping opportunities were available. Shopping seems pretty limited, with all the storefronts being sole proprietorships selling either food or inexpensive gear. Think of every non-food store being a Dollar Store and you’ll get the idea.

... bad, but we can't shake off the feeling that our behaviour has not quite pleased the parole board in some way and we may be detained for a further period.

However we are released and the clever thinking behind the one hour resort time difference from Male time becomes clear. Our departure time is 7am island time, which allows us to have breakfast. If we were on Male time we would have had to leave at 6am ! I thought that was quite neat really ...
