... incident and were taken to our beach bungalow. The island was perhaps a half-kilometer square. On one side a deck overlooked the the Indian ocean waves breaking around the rocky reef at Lohi's; one of the Maldive's prime surf spots. Inland from there was the sand-floored main dining hall, the reception desk, main bar, gym, pool, and pool bar. A concrete jetty formed a protected harbor for speedboats, and on the sandy ...

Maldives!

... for a honeymoon destination, I would fully recommend it! When we left the Kuredu island resort, we had to get a sea plane off the island aout 3 pm as they don't fly at night but our flight to Columbo wasn't until 3.05 am so we managed to get a room at the Hulhule hotel which is a whole 2 minutes from Male airport. Our room was gorgeous!! Definitely beats sitting in a hot airport for 10 hours! Next coming blog from Bangkok.........

1350 Mile Arabian Sea Sailing Adventure

... However there has been an unconfirmed incident of a yacht being fired on. The American coordinator of the 'anti piracy convoys' rushed the entire Indian Ocean, ignored their own advice, and sailed by themselves through the 'piracy' area. Rumour has it that they are so unbearable that no-one would sail with them! We now have 240 miles to go, 1100 completed, seems like we are almost there, but its still 2 days to go. We send our best wishes to you all From the crew of Intrepid, Lanah, Nicky, Andy

... for me. I told her to email me anytime and especially if she ends up studying in US or NZ. She wrote her email and a sweet note in my journal. Oh, and she thought I was 20 and laughed so much when I said almost 30. So funny. Aw, my first Maldivian friend. I love it!!! So, a new friend And my pictures saved. Brilliant. Now what? Well, as I do some quick searching for a journal I am standing on a corner and someone says "Haloh". I smile and keep walking then turn back and it is the ...

... was an experience it itself in relation to schooling - and everything else. I've downloaded a few pictures again. Hopefully Doug will continue to provide some updates in the future - and his photos are pretty spectacular. However, work is pretty busy so we will see. In the meantime, I'll see most of you in the next couple of weeks. For those who don't live so close, keep in touch by e-mail. It's been great sharing this experience with you. ... think Doug has those). We lose our caregiver, Evelyn, in a week but we have found a woman, Jenny, from the Phillipines who wants to look after them in the mornings until they start school. Since getting them into school may take awhile still I'm worried that we will be on the point of leaving by the time this happens. I hope everyone is well and enjoying the beginning of the autumn back home - my favourite season - although I'm quite content with the continuous summer here for the moment.

... town. All these fascinating idiosynchrasies aside, Malé is a pretty neat little place. The people have been nothing but friendly, the food is delicious (lot of tuna) the streets are really pretty, the ocean is an incredible blue, exploring is a fun adventure and Jill and Shane's home is a nice peaceful sanctuary in the middle of it all to retreat to for some healthy organic muesli or tahini. Jill was in the UK on business until this morning, so it was ...
