... an awful lot of money we didn’t have. Chris was nearly lured back in however, and it was only after I slapped his delirious face did he come to. I’m joking of course, he wasn’t that delirious.

We stepped out into the sunshine and I punched the air once more. The casino had been devilishly fun and I’m sure I shall enter a few more in my life but at that point we knew it was time to depart. Chloe had been waiting for us and we headed back to her ...

Moreton Island Adventure

... was through, we loaded back on the catamaran to an impromptu fun game of jump off the boat. The water was so incredible and everyone was just having such a nice time. Our tour ended with an eco-tour around the northern tip of the island explaining that Captain Cook found Morteton Island and thought it was a piece of the mainland first so named it Morton Bay (no 'e") after some famous british someone. As we were learning about the stories we came upon some dolphins breaching. ...

Brisbane bound and back to the billabong

... up South Bank to be a great downtown recreational spot. It has white sand beaches built around a lagoon pool. There is plenty of green space and plenty of things to eat, drink and enjoy looking back at the Brisbane city skyline. I went for an early lunch of grilled fish and an ice coffee on a patio. I am still confused with the ordering system and etiquette rules in Australia. After going to the counter to order my food and drink I was given a number. When my drink was delivered ...

Horrible Histories

... with a very wriggly and mischievous Chloe was endured before getting off at Mount Coot-tha for a coffee. During the ride our cheerful driver gave us a no holds barred history of the city with plenty of examples of shameful and downright barbaric English behaviour. Each example was met by a sort of nervous/apologetic smile from us (having ascertained our nationality upon boarding the bus I feel he was particularly relishing this). A degree of soul searching ...

Falling in Love with the Heart Shaped Island

... a big day of driving, destination Cradle Mountain over 300km away in the centre of the island. This was one of the places I was most looking forward to after researching Tasmania and getting lost in photos on Pinterest, it was also a place Joey had not been himself so we were both super excited. The journey took us through so many northern towns; Scotsdale, Launceston ( the second biggest town in tassie ), Delorane and Moles Creek to name a few. It was a pretty amazing drive ...

We lived in a 34th floor apartment for around 9 weeks with two Colombian guys, a French girl and an Indonesian.. All great people and the apartment itself was outstanding. It is right in the centre of Brisbane so you have all kids of food outlets at your doorstep. The view of the bridge is incredible from either of the two balconies in our apartment. All amenities are there and the apartment is very contemporary. Tenants also get use of the gym, sauna, pool and bbq area. All in all this is by far the best place we stayed in Australia and it was all for less than we would pay in a hostel.. The staff were also very helpful and polite, highly recommended hotel.
