It is Sunday and very wet and miserable here in Antibes. Quite a change from the glorious day we had yesterday. Ideal for computer work in fact... (Except that then things didn't pan out as planned and it is now Monday)
It wasn't my intention to have an entry before my departure but the response to my initial circular has been so overwhelming that I feel it merited an ...
Gorgeous morning and a stunning place for breakfast awaited us just outside Scooby overlooking the lake. I went for a run but Kim was feeling a little under the weather so she stayed and made me breakfast - yay! We spotted two girls about our age and attempted to engage in some conversation but their English was limited and French is rubbish. Shame as its manily been the grey hair brigade we ...
Grasse, Provence, France darrenhough74... need/want me to be there. rar. and i couldnt get home because no buses were running due to the crazy floods...the fact that there even was school on a day when half the teacher and students couldn't get there...is another story and also belongs on my list of illogical frenchisms...
anyways thanks to miguel, i made it both home and to saint raphael in time. thanks again miguel!!!!!
so while at the train station i witnessed ...
... Sailboats were docked at the marina (knez, it made me think of you). Diane ordered mussles and Jon and I had our first mussels ever. They were delicious. Thank you Diane for helping me discover my love for sea food. St-Tropez was further than we thought, but thank god we ...

... at the number of steps we had to climb I tried to change Pete's mind about going to the top. First impressions were that Millie was no way going to walk by herself to the top! However, Pete insisted so on we plodded. Millie really surprised me and walked up most of the steps. How glad am I that Pete made us go! The views across the whole of Nice were out of this world! Even Jess was impressed. We then found a waterfall near the top for us to sit next to, to eat ...
Fréjus, France goughfamilyinpa... silly American"...very much deserved. She leaves and I re-group. Dave walks in with my café crème and juice and sees the dirty clothes sitting in the machines. He shakes his head and asks me what the heck I've been doing the last 20 minutes. Hmf...long story, honey. Dave wraps up laundry (ok...starts laundry - ha!) while I head back to the hotel and begin to pack our things. I catch a few pics of our tiny but clean room ...
Nice, France esmigiel... many beautiful clothing boutiques in our area as well as restaurants, cafes, gelato bars, magnificent old Churches and gift shops. It is a visual treat to simply walk out the door and stroll around the neighbourhood. Mark and I ventured out early to stroll through the flower/fruit/vegetable markets. These markets are located along the cours Saleya in the Old Town, just one road back from the beach. This too was a visual feast on such a beautiful sunny morning; the day was to be a ...
Nice, France mcnamaras... pavement café and enjoy coffee and croissants with Bryan, who after 10 minutes is quite boutiqued out. While the girls are occupied with shopping, we visit the local post office and send off a series of post cards to friends and family with Monégasque stamps. Monaco is, after all, a Principality which has its own tax system, postal service and representation in the United Nations. After enjoying the old town, we pick up ...
