We finally arrive just after 7pm..a long day driving and I wish I felt comfortable enough to drive, if it was an automatic I wouldn't have a a problem. Too many variable with the manual and the wrong side of the road! The L'Oustelet is a cute hotel with only 15 rooms, and the lovely manageress looks at us blankly when we ask her about our reservations, no matter..she has room. Strange we had booked it on booking.com. Anyways, we go to our top ...

Annecy fue nuestro primer destino después de recoger el coche alquilado en el aeropuerto de Saint-Exupéry, Lyon. ( Y que coche... habíamos alquilado un triste Laguna, y nos encontramos con aquel pepinaco, como dijo Álvaro ).

Annecy es una ciudad de postal, imprescindible, que nos sirvió para abrir ...

... mais il existe le Tour confort dans des auberges 3 étoiles. Certains diront qu'il faut être très sportif pour faire des marches de 10 heures avec de fort dénivelés, oui c'est vrai, mais c'est comme toute épreuve de longues durées, il faut une préparation spécifique, on ne fait pas un Marathon juste en courant après son bus chaque matin.

Dans les points positifs, tout le reste....

Je retrouve ma voiture au parking de la gare, 1 heure après je suis chez moi, je commence par faire tourner une première lessive, m'écroule dans le canapé et revois toutes les images de cette fabuleuse semaine.

... from 1250 to 2360 meters in the morning, and then walked all the way back down to Chamonix. Wonderful views, but we were shattered in the evening, so we treated ourselves to a fondue savoyarde, mmmhhh!!

The next day was slightly shorter, but we still walked for 5 hours. We even did a bit of 'trail running' when we realised we were half way up the mountain and had a train to catch to get back to Geneva!!

My main goal for the little trip was 'The tour de France' in Annecy. But before heading home I couldn't resist to go to Chamonix. Being so close to the highest mountain in Europe I had to go there. So I did. It was early morning when I was there. Not crowded (yet).

... aunque luego me dan envidia. Esta noche ha nevado bastante (por nuestra casa también un poco) y hace más frío. Por la tarde vamos a Chamonix con la idea de tomar un teleférico, pero resulta que sólo están abiertos por la mañana. Damos un paseo por el pueblo, compramos algunos recuerdos y cenamos fondue y raclette. A Alicia y Miguel algo de la cena les sienta mal y devuelven en casa. Luego pasan la noche sin problemas.

The reason I went to France was to go skiing at chamonix/Mont Blanc, which i did and it was fantastic and i will be doing again very soon before i get tied up.. while i was there i did the world famous ski run Valley de blanche you ski over a glacier. which is amazing, the veiws you get on theis run are spectacular. definately take a camera.
