What a day ! We drove 90mins to Lac Aiguebelette and had a wonderful day. By chance we were able to wander into the athletes area and cruised around all their tents. Just like a Sunday picnic, except, stationery bikes, kids paddling pools and rowing boats everywhere. We tracked down the Kiwi's and quickly took a photo and moved on. We watched the activity on the athlete's screen, went and saw the boats being weighed and really felt part of the action. ...

It's not a tough one to work out, we laughed about that then I went off down the other side.
Now I was experimenting with still shots on the go pro, so will be fun finding out whats on there.

Not to be deterred by the rain or the heavy traffic we headed on to Evian. It is right on the lakes edge and we enjoyed a stroll through the old village before heading home to pack.

... scree slopes with fatal drop-offs. We made it past the first one ok but when we came to another one we decided to go back. After getting back to the van we carried on down to Briancon, and up another valley to an Aire at Vars Les Claux, another ski resort that looked like a ghost town, being out of season. The deserted aire was in a big car park at the top of the town near the ski lift. The tourist office had free wifi even out of hours which was good. We did lots ...
