Day two saw some seriously committed stein consumption, gee whiz we got stuck in hard. The old hands ensured we got there early enough to get a seat in one of the bigger tents so we could drink comfortably all day. I must have proceeded to eat everything in sight once we hit the rides. John, my brother in law and I had a magnificent day up at L'Aguille de Midi (3,841m) high above Chamonix followed by a three hour hike from the cable car's mid station to a glacier where we caught a little mountain cog railway back down to Chamonix.
