At the end of the gorge we joined the road towards Cannes, which was route Napoleon, orginially created by him as a pass through the mountains...very windy. Our destination for the evening was Grasse where we found a good park overlooking the city lights and our first view of the Med.

... but seriously....not so pretty madame....we also passed blois and another castle that i forget the name of, in the van.

all in all castle day was just about one of the most amazing days ever i still cant believe that buildings like that are even real. just insane.

alright im sorry for how long this is....and if you actually managed to read it, you must love me a lot or something...?

Cannes is not as glamrous as we thought it would be, it still has all the fancy smancy stores along the beach, but there were definitely no red carpets rolled out when we were there. We did a day trip to St-Tropez, its was the end of a hge sailing competitiona and tons of ...

... Deze keer wel de canyon volledig tot beneden gedaan in plaats van eerder te stoppen zoals vorig jaar. Maar hebben dan nu ook geen rugzak onderweg vergeten!

Dit was verder ook onze laatste canyon van de week en na vandaag zullen we weer een heel tijdje geduld mogen uitoefenen om nog eens een canyon in te duiken!

... zijn van allemaal, hij biedt wel de mogelijkheid om een aantal technieken zoals het aanleggen van looplijntjes,... te oefenen.

Verder is er nog een ander groepje net voor ons de canyon in getrokken, we zullen hen nog een aantal maal tegenkomen in het verder verloop van de canyon.

Op een bepaald moment blijkt dat er ergens een foutje in de topo zit... We komen aan een rappel en weten niet of ...

... How rude! There was a sandy beach which was nice, but it was very dirty due to the horde of people all packed in to the tiny strip of sand. We went to a Picasso museum that didn't appear to have any actual works by Picasso, had a little guided tour, and then spent the rest of the day swimming in the Mediterranean.

... a map and directions on how to get to the bus stop and what bus to take, as well as to how to get to all of the major sites. Also while I was in the office I signed up for a 4 course Christmas day feast that the chef was going to prepare for all of the guests and hostel staff...the dinner was like 10 euros but I figured that it would be a nice way to celebrate Christmas. So after signing up, I leave the hostel and trek down the hill to find the bus ...

... where all the money is! Now that Rob's a bit old and past it, (that's what she thinks!!!-Rob) Alfie was left to entertain the young ladies - he had all the young Italian girls fussing round him! Daisy handled perfectly round the Grand Prix circuit and she gave the Ferraris a good run for their money! We had a police escort out of Monaco - not sure if they thought they might get us for speeding or whether they were making sure we didn't set up camp!

Today I went to Museum D Orsay, which had a lot of great stuff. Degas, Monet, Manet, Van Gogh. I really enjoyed seeing this stuff, more so than the Louvre, I ate lunch on the roof of the museum, I made a sandwich. I walked to Notre Dame and took some great pics, there is a little area of bushes where there are tons of birds and you can feed them. They fly right into your hand and ...
