Hangin out at George F.L. Charles airport on our way from St. Lucia to St. Vincent. It's HUGE. One whopping gate, and we think the pilot might also be the flight attendant and work at the airport coffee shop. Just found out that we have at least a one hour delay. Go LIAT air..woohoo.

Bequia is just a short flight and quick ferry away. We can smell it now...

Update... we did not make it to Bequia today. Our 11am Liat flight was ...

Saint Lucia, Saint Lucia 4thegoodtimesI was finally off on my fam trip to St Lucia! Having met with the 8 other travel agents from all over the UK and Genevieve (the representative from the St Lucia Tourist board) at Gatwick airport, and finding everyone in the group was lovely I was feeling confident I would have a great time. We even had our own check in desk – the VIP treatment had started already!
The flight was as expected from a ...
Rodney Bay, Minas Gerais, Saint Lucia kat-hayter... through the rainforest.

Now I wouldn’t describe myself as an adrenaline seeking, adventure kind of girl. Although I enjoy keeping fit and trying new things, past experiences of trying more adventurous activities have not been that successful. Whilst horse riding in the New Forest my horse bolted. Whilst sea kayaking in Mallorca I had to be rescued when I beached myself on some rocks ...
Rodney Bay, Minas Gerais, Saint Lucia kat-hayter... overlooking the sea, bar and restaurant overlooking the Caribbean sunset. On Rodney Bay itself there are a number of ordinary hotels but the ones that stand out are The Landings located in a marina very like Chelsea Harbour in London ...

Castries, Saint Lucia ri-anne.cruz... a manual process! He then ate the final product and passed some around for us to taste. We then made our way to an open-aired building where we savored a sumptuous Creole buffet lunch and beverage. Here, I was able to find some vegetarian dish which was delicious! Mi had a variety of food. We sat at the table with other people from the tour where we exchanged stories about our activities so far.

Finally, we returned to ...
Saint Lucia, Saint Lucia momentsintime... but it was like two dogs fighting over a bone. Owen had his video camera recording and even on reviewing the video, we still couldn't understand a word. Anyway, Sidney (the more colorful of the two) won out and wanted to know if we wanted to buy any tee shirts. We got one for Owen that sums up life in the islands: "Sail Fast, Live Slow". After our idyllic three days in the Cays, we headed ...
Rodney Bay, Saint Lucia questmiller... with it's distinctive smell, bubbling mud and steam emitting fissures. A stop in the nearby botanic gardens with it's mineral spa, cascading 'Diamond Falls' and heavy vegetation and we were done. The journey back though only 30 miles took 1.5 hours with all the hairpin bends in the road. We took up our invitation of the 'Rum Punch' party at our hotel and were glad to eat locally when the heavens opened once more and the rain came relentlessly down for the rest of the evening ...
