On a day trip from Florence, ISA brought us to a little Tuscan town called San Gimignano. I suggest not trying to pronounce it unless you hear someone else (preferably Italian) say it first. It is a quaint little town that has amazing view of the outstanding Tuscan countryside. Apparently it is also home to the award winning gelato shop. Of course I had to test this out and see whether it was actually possible if it was that good, it was. ...

... Shame really because other parts of the town are really nice, like Piazza del Campo i saw yesterday and the architecture od some of the buildings. Apart from the cattedrale, the arty stuff here isn't really my favourite, maybe thats it, Im looking forward to Florence tomorrow.

Went into the Pinacoteca Nazionale, an art museum that was incredibly dull. Endless paintings of the Madonna and Child or Madonna and Saints which to be honest I'd seen similar ...

On our walk back from the Dumo we noticed the dozens of large colorful flags hanging along the backstreets. Each flag represented a different Contrade (or city neighborhood that originally formed a battalion for the city's defense) that corresponds to a specific horse in the famous Palio horse races.
