    ... of locals. The place was hopping and continued to do so until our departure. Everyone in line was taken care off. Fun to people watch as we in our warmer clothes, enjoyed the sandal wearing, short and t-shirt groups coming in. Made me hotter and hotter, I could hardly wait to ditch my wolly socks! It was clear we were overdressed.

    Tomorrow we head to Savannagh, Georgia for a couple of days. Night now!

    Made it down the bay overnight

    Survived a wild ride down the bay. Some of the roughest conditions we have experienced on the Chesapeake. Big waves. 30+ kt winds and lots of driving rain. Enjoyed our new cockpit enclosures as well as the heater we installed below. The AIS system which allowed us to identify ships during the night was a big help.

    Navy ships don't use AIS so we slowed to enter Hampton Roads after sunrise. Still, with heavy ...

    ... in my face was perfect. that bridge has only a couple turn outs so pay attention. Didn't stop at the turn outs to get pictures. I am still figuring out how to manage my need for easy riding with my desire (and others desires) for me to capture it all on video and still pictures That part of Virginia is a combination of water and rural farm land. An interesting and relaxing combination for as long as it lasted.

    ... at the starboard helm and set the drags on the two rods on that side. Donna and Jim handled the rods on the port side. Fortunately, the fish didn’t cross each other and tangle the lines and we ultimately got them all in! Whew! What a fire drill! Dave and Jim spent much of the rest of the day cleaning fish….
