    Made it down the bay overnight

    Survived a wild ride down the bay. Some of the roughest conditions we have experienced on the Chesapeake. Big waves. 30+ kt winds and lots of driving rain. Enjoyed our new cockpit enclosures as well as the heater we installed below. The AIS system which allowed us to identify ships during the night was a big help.

    Navy ships don't use AIS so we slowed to enter Hampton Roads after sunrise. Still, with heavy ...

    ... very sweet people.Then got geared up to grab lunch (delicious mexican food) and pick up Joel to head to the beach! When we got to Joel's, we got to meet his mother, she was such a sweetheart, and funny. She showed me an old picture of Joel from highschool when he had a goofy jew-fro it was hilarious.     ... in my face was perfect. that bridge has only a couple turn outs so pay attention. Didn't stop at the turn outs to get pictures. I am still figuring out how to manage my need for easy riding with my desire (and others desires) for me to capture it all on video and still pictures That part of Virginia is a combination of water and rural farm land.     ... at the starboard helm and set the drags on the two rods on that side. Donna and Jim handled the rods on the port side.
