    Leaving Norway.
Today is....(consults iPhone) ... Saturday 9th August, and we are officially on our way for the discovery part of our trip, having left Oslo this morning and are now in Sweden.
We've had an amazing time in Norway and it has been party after party, thanks to all these crazy Norwegians.
I must admit to some sadness in leaving, as we have been made so very welcome, and the warmth, welcoming, and generosity of everyone has been ...

The wind had blown itself out, at least temporarily and we woke to a bright, sunny morning. It was forecast to be blowy again this afternoon and much less on Friday morning, backing to the SE and hopefully, a perfect direction for our crossing to Denmark. It was a breezy day, blowing at F6 from the SSW but the direction of the channel between Orust ...

... people in. Disappointed and hungry, we thought we’d try a Swedish traditional meal back on board, called ‘ Pytt I panna’ (potato, ham, onion etc in small cubes, fried then frozen and re-heated in a frying pan and served with a fried egg. Better than it sounds, just.

Later, we were disturbed by two very large Princess power boats or something similar, one of which was too large to fit – I would guess the value as >£2 million. Norwegian, of ...

    The home of Malö

... due to the phenomenon I’ve described in earlier blogs, the bouncing back of the earth’s crust after the considerable weight of ice after the last ice age disappeared. Quite a thought.

We were keen to see the above sights and with directions given by the friendly Hans, we set off up the road to the Malö factory. Sadly, this famous yacht manufacturer is ailling, I believe there are now only a few employees as it struggles to survive. There doesn’t seem to be ...
