... bored half way through but it was still interesting learning a bit about American sports history. Our first meal in Nashville was at Rockbottom micro Brewery on Broadway. We sampled their beer and shared wings in hot sauce and only the BEST pulled pork and apple slaw sandwich EVER! ... a clean room but the sheets and floor still felt damp. We decided not to switch rooms after all, only one more night remained. I plopped down on the bed and pulled my computer onto my lap. While online I searched for restaurants in the area and around 8:00 p.m. we drove to the vicinity on the map that seemed to be full of dining options. ... McNamara's Irish Pub and Restaurant. We had just stuffed ourselves. Jody had a stuffed pork loin with corn mash and potato medley, while Joseph had Kerry lamb with carrots/parsnips and cabbage. Life as they knew it was pretty rosy, then on 29th November about 25,000 federal troops raced past the house trying to get to Nashville before the Confederates. The area just south of the town of Franklin was a perfect place for the Union troops to defend so they dug in. They were positioned about 1 mile North of the house.
