To finish off our amazing stay in Paris we went out a treated ourselves to a lovely dinner under the Eiffel tower – you couldn’t actually see it but it was just around the corner – still counts right?
Back to London for New Years and then Edinburgh the next day – no rest for the wicked!!

all up to an early start. So we slept in and went to Bercy so I could
see the famous ledges and skate the park. The ledges had some
scaffolding around them so most were not skateable and there were a
few security guards around due to some kind of event going on. Would

... an escape clause! After a complete lack of culture in London (apparently the Sherlock Holmes meusem doesn't count) we thought we best make amends so we headed for the Louve . Yes , you don't have to line up if you have a prepaid ticket-we felt very special as we walk passed an incredibly long line and scooted straight in. My goodness. Huge, overwhelming, crowded , ...
... the top, we were only up there for about 15 mins. It was just so crowed that once all the pictures were taken, you just needed to leave. We had to go and have lunch immediately just so that we could recover. We went for le menu fixe, eating like the French, getting what we get given. The limited choice was just what we needed to relax. They left, heading back for London that afternoon, leaving me to go and sort my life out and prepare for my birthday the next ...

Any one of the paintings, Egyptian artefacts, statues etc etc in the Louvre would be the feature in most museums around the world, yet the Louvre has thousands of exhibits in each category and each one has a story to tell. One almost becomes ambivalent as you try to look at as many of the exhibits as possible in the limited time available. I think I could literally sleep in the Louvre Museum.
