... built high up on a rock overlooking it. Climbed around 300 steps to reach the top of "La Rocca" as it is called, for a great view over the coastline. Caught another train later in the day to Messina, were we overnighted before catching a ferry to Villa San Giovanni at the toe of mainland Italy, then connected with a train to Salerno. Salerno is at the eastern end of the Amalfi coast and is a great base ...

... under the influence of crystal meth on the subway. At first I didn’t believe him, but then he showed us pictures and all doubts were removed from the situation. His face looks normal now though so that’s definitely a good thing. We also met an alcoholic Australian softball player who was a pretty swell lady. Jess and I passed out immediately once we were back at the hostel.
