    ... was not all bad. The tyrants built a series of temples and structures in order to solidify their rule of the city and appease the masses, as well as the gods. The gate to the Temple of Apollo built by the tyrant Lacedaemonians of Naxos still stands on a hilltop in clear view of the harbor, framing the sunset quite beautifully.

    ... Walked on to jetty for smaller boats. Water again crystal clear -saw fish of different sizes in the water. Some good views of old parts of Chorah from the port area.

    Decided on lunch but no dinner tonight. Found water front tavern with lunch specials. Cheryl had chicken and I had my last meal of genuine Greek kalamari. Bread, salad and chips certainly satisfied any hunger we had. Complementary white wine went down well.
