... It's awesome and noisy and threatening and joyful. Our lives are golden. We get to take it all in. Five pizza delivery motos rotate in and out in front of us. Lots of duct tape keeping them running and all together. Just like our spinning globe. Don't know how it all stays together and don't care. As long as it does. Strange encounters of a genuine kind. Sandy. She a lovely young woman running the fruit and health food store a few doors ...

... water. While the sea was a bit choppy at first--we rounded the bend and were into the calm waters of the caldera within 30 minutes of departure. Inside we snaked along the caldera walls where the water is deep enough to allow boats to within 50m of the cliff walls. We didn't take many pictures because it was just too peaceful and beautiful to bother with cameras. Plus, most of our time was spent staring up at the villages that we'd stayed in and visited all week ...

Cunard's open policy on bringing alcohol aboard (in sensible quantities) is greatly appreciated. At our afternoon cocktails on the balcony we have enjoyed some lovely wines. Sadly the Prosecco is finished until we reach Italy again. Early night as we have a busy agenda in Athens ...

... of Santorini is the newly forming volcano, a separate island, which has erupted twice (minor eruptions) in the last 50 years.

There isn't a place for big cruise ships to port directly on the island, so instead they do a tender, where small boats drive groups of tourists from the ship to the island. Blake, Rob, and I heard from some friends on the boat that there is a famous hike on the island from the town of Fira to Oia. Having no internet to do any major research of ...

Greece....who knew there was such a market for fur

We arrived in Crete, quite early in the morning. I tried to sleep in, but the gentle rolling of the ship was enough to wake me. Looking out our window, We saw the port (even though we are on the starboard – or "right" side of the ship).

HOT. HUMID. Dark clouds collecting off in the distance seem menacing as they ever so slowly drift across the black and blue sky picking up moisture along the way. We have ...
