... with them in December. Given the circumstances I think it would be rude not to. Apparently the weather in NZ is stunning at the moment and I wouldn't mind the chance to see a bit of the country. Small but beautiful is how it's been described and I think it would be ridiculous to come all this way to the other side of the world and not travel an additional four hours to see NZ.
I can't remember how much I mentioned of this in my previous blog, but I had been hoping to do ...
When Fiona first mentioned it, it didn't sound like a bad idea. I'd get to go on a two week "holiday", travel through Australia and I'd get to ride my bike - a lot!!! The fact that I had to ride 2,317km in just under 2 weeks from Melbourne to Uluru hadn't really sunk in!
I met up with Andrew, who came up with the idea of the ride. The whole purpose of the ride is to raise awareness of cancer and to raise money to help fight ...
... get breakfast. Go back, its not there, luckily someone nice returned it to the gate. It was 2.60 for a donut at Krispie Kreme. Ridiculous, only 95cents back home.
Get to Melbourne and head to the shuttle desk first, the bus leaves in 5 minutes than its an hour for the next one, I get my ticket, and hope my luggage is first out. Lukily it was pretty close and I ran to the bus stop, just managing to catch him. Got to the hostel, checkin and ...

Melbourne, Victoria, Australia ddoumaniHi Having a excellent time here. We're staying just outside the city in a suburb called St Kilda, this is where the beach is. And between the city & St Kilda is Albert Park, which at the moment is still a public road, but will be track for the OZ Grand Prix next month. I would loved to have seen that. Melbourne is where the TV show Neighbours is filmed, and you can do tours to the set, and see the ...
Melbourne, Victoria, Australia stuart007... this time in Sapa (also Vietnam), us riding a scooter through the local market and them walking there as well. That was creepy! We had a chat with them discussing what our plans were, they were flying to Sydney, us to Perth, joking around that maybe we'll see each other in Australia. We couldn't believe our eyes when we were walking along the Flinders Street Station in Melbourne and bumped into them yet again, how strange!!! We all were so ...

Melbourne, Victoria, Australia rhibeez... in through the Victorian wine regions to Geelong, along the Great Ocean Road, and then finally into Adelaide through some spectacular vallies. Melbourne, Victoria, Australia lkidner... about 5 PM at Tulla. Through customs and immigration without hassles, but had to wait for our baggage for some time, as the baggage handlers stopped work due to electrical storms in the vicinity. The bags eventually arrived, and we took the shuttle bus to Spencer Street, the train to Mt Waverley and walked home. After cheap trains and taxis, it was a shock to have to pay $40 to get home from the airport. Another great and safe holiday, in which everything went well.
