... I prebooked my hostel and arranged a pickup so I didn't have to deal with the taxi mafia (and my lack of language ability) right off the bat. But as I had a very minimal amount of kwai (general term for Chinese money, also yuan and remimbi more officially; think bucks, dollars, and USD), my priority the next morning was an ATM (I was whisked out of the airport too quick to use one the night before). This turned into quit an event. There are numerous banks in China, however, most ...

Auntie Rachel and I had a day to explore in the big city of Shanghai.

After breakfast we walked along the shopping street to go to place called People's Square. The shopping street looks much different during the day. At People's Square there is a beautiful garden and a lot of really cool buildings to look at. We walked around People's Square for a long time. I liked it very much.

I spent the morning actually packing rather than staring and my things. I was able to fully pack and clean before going to lunch.

This afternoon Maria and I made a impulsive decision to go for one more round of shopping before I leave. We shopped for a few hours and I definitely bought more than I should have.

At 4:30 I was to meet the principals at the school for a photo in front of ...

... Auntie Rachel and I love to fish! We almost caught two really big fish! Unfortunately, we were both so excited to catch a fish that we pulled the fishing pole too hard and lost the fish. We didn't catch any fish, but it was so much fun!

I loved being outside in the mountains. It reminded me of the mountains at Noami's home in Montana.

It is time say my prayers and go to sleep. Good ...

... water buffalo graze and the fisherman's boat drift in the murky waters. Unfortunately I left my camera in my room, but will hopefully have another opportunity. There is a nice path by the river and I was able to walk a few miles before going to dinner.

I will now attempt to understand the mechanics of a Chinese washing machine before going to bed.

    Until we meet again...
