Late night neighbours and noisy staff destroyed plans for
hours and only managed about 6 so was ready for a double espresso at the
airport. Needed it to get through the cramped and cloudy flight back to
Fortaleza. Was interesting to see all the unfortunates still dossing on the
streets and prostitutes still hard at it, all loitering on street ...
I think I'm still recovering from having written so much in the last blog so this one is going to be short and sweet. After waiting in the airport and attempting to sleep on the floor we finally boarded out flight from Manaus to Fortaleza at about 2am. This got us to Fortaleza for about 6am on a Sunday morning. After faffing around for hours working out which bus to catch etc and waiting for hours because it was a Sunday morning we arrived at ...

We spent nearly three hours wandering around the beautiful settings complete with a lily pond, orchid house, palm tree avenue and waterfalls - a real oasis of calm in the bustling city. We obviously had to leave in time to get to a bar for the next match and found ourselves in the upmarket neighbourhood of ...
Arriving early morning into Fortaleza after our overnight flights we pulled up outside Backpackers CE, a basic hostel run by a lovely old lady called Gisele who can speak most of the European languages it seems. I use the word basic (although by no means am complaining) as the dorms/ rooms basically contained beds, a small fan and nothing more (including glass in most windows!) making them hot and loud at night but it had a pleasant outside social area with TV ...
