Boy is this falter a waste land!! Nothing but oil pump jacks and junkyards in this entire area! What a difference in scenery from the past. 5 days!!
But we are close to the airport for our 7:15am flight to IAH then DCA so it works. We killed enough time driving around looking at stupid stuff that it landed us in Odessa at 5pm.
Our next task was to find a place to eat dinner. Odessa is a food desert....all food chains which is something I try ...

... 160;Then I see a sign warning that trucks tip over.  So now I'm trying to avoid being next to trucks.  Scan for deer, pass the truck, scan for deer.  And now we have a "high crosswinds" sign.  I open all the windows evenly.  Who knows if  that helps.  (Scan for deer.)  And then, here's the kicker, a "danger falling rocks" sign.  Thank you very much, sign. ...

... white. So much fun driving among the dunes! Just as walking up and rolling down from them. Trully an amazing place everyone should visit!
Then we took a longer route through the Lincoln National Forest. I surely did not regret that! As we were climbing the winding mountain roads snow started to fall and soon everything was covered in white. Soon we saw snowplows cleaning slippery road. ... was LONG but I have to say American Airlines kept the food and snacks coming. Cousin Dr. Kathy was called upon on the flight to attend a sickly man but all turned out to be ok for him thankfully. Kathy is an amazing woman! Customs in Dallas was interesting - I was never searched (physically or baggage wise) but it seemd Kathy and Susan were always stopped. The line was long but it went quickly and I was impressed ...
