    ... to put seats up, tables up, belts on and put window blinds up. Eventually we were given a drink - for me it was orange juice and then a snack box containing, bizarrely, a bread roll, a small sachet of some sort of pickled cabbage and a piece of chiffon cake.     We went to Hangzhou, China on a train that went 304 km/hr. from Shanghai. It was a super fast train.

    In Hangzhou we went to a place called West Lake and rented bikes to ride around. There were a lot of people walking and riding bikes around the lake so we had to be careful..

    ... 5 to 10 times the legitimate amount for cab fare. Luckily we read ahead and knew to expect them. Incidently, the cab fare from station to hostel was 11rmb (about 2 dollars). We experienced something similiar in shanghai. Wanting to treat Sam to a little stuffed panda bear we found them in old-town Shanghai. One vendor wanted 10rmb and another vendor (no more than a block away) wanted 100rmb. Great lesson I suppose.
