... the fantastical environment. Wow, just speechless.

In addition to all the buddhist statues, there was a garden around the tomb of a famous ancient Chinese poet and also the summer home of the prime minister of China from the 30s.

Really really good times this weekend, despite the frustrations! I hope I go back next weekend to see the White Horse temple, the oldest still standing in China.

The Grottoes themselves are basically a series of caves carved out of the limestone cliff face with many many artworks of Buddha carved within them. There are about 1400 caves in total housing over 100,000 carvings and statues of Buddha! ....thats a fair few Buddhas.

No one asks me to share mine so there is a good reason to eat raw vegetables. I don't think I can handle people just coming up and eating your lunch. When you go out to dinner and if someone gets served before you, it is okay for you to start eating off their plate even though yours will be served soon.

I am becoming like all the other foreign teachers and sleeping in. This is most unusual for me as I try to get up early and go to bed early. I think it is because we work late into the evening and my body clock doesn't know about that. Yesterday, I didn't get up until 11 and then this morning it was still after 10. There is also no reason to get up. I need Kerry knocking on my door asking me to go for a walk.

    ... to complete that.

About an hour and a half into the journey the train came to a sudden stop. There were announcements, and some aggressive questioning of the conductors by other passengers, none of which I understood. I thought about trying to ask, and then just sat tight, crossing my fingers that we wouldn't be told to disembark and get on another train. Eventually, we started moving again, very slowly, then finally picked up. Now my only concern ...
