... I have no other choices.
The flight was on time (this is the only leg we had to purchase as the rest of the ticket was frequent flier award) and we arrived in Bangkok with our driver holding a sign with my name on it waiting to transfer us from Bangkok airport to the Hyatt in Hua Hin.
Hua Hin is where the Thai King live most of the ...
... boxing in Thailand ( I saw an exhibition match at a Thai food festival in Battersea Park). The Bangkok venue is the size of Wembley arena and takes at least an hour to return from - a bit like seeing a west end show while living in Stoketonia. Hua Hin stadium was much more intimate. We shared a table with 3 guys from Calgary ...
Hua Hin, Thailand valetroy... a retreat to the hotel and cancellation of all plans, we got a cab (initially in the opposite direct) then a bus 3 hours down the coast to Hua Hin, where the King has a holiday palace. It's very jolly, lovely beach. My 25p Lying Planet that I bought from Andover library remarks (in 2001) that girlie bars were starting to appear. The whole street are hotel is in is wall to wall girlie bars now.
Hua Hin, Thailand valetroy... he'd do, except there isn't much of a view to enjoy because time and gravity (along with beer and deep fried foods) are unforgivingly destructive on the human body, especially when people don't take care of themselves. At 49, Pierre is considered a kid amongst the crowd here, which would make me a mere newborn; they weren't kidding when they said the crowd was older here. If cellulite were consumable by humans, there is enough here ...
Hua Hin, Thailand bebabui... Yes, the wind soaring through your hair on a steamy Bangkok afternoon is great and all, but the amount of exhaust fumes inhaled does at some point become problematic. On our third and final tuk-tuk ride during peak Bangkok traffic (I say this, but really, nearly every hour in Bangkok can seem to be peak traffic in this city), the burning in our eyes and lungs was nearly unbearable. Will someone please sell me a gas mask? I got 20 baht on it... I also began to think ...
Hua Hin, Thailand bgoode98... of a food court, a number of restaurants, a bowling alley and plenty of small shops with popular clothing brands such as Levi, Lee, Lacoste, Bata, Body Glove and more. A number of bank branches, mobile phone and camera shops can be found in the Hua Hin Market Village area. Recommended restaurant Let's Sea
Hua Hin, Hua Hin, Thailand vittavin... and then got up at about 6:00am. Jetlag is always so much fun! Our guide, Ariya, is very nice. We struggle a little to understand his English - but we will get better at that as we get accustomed to the accent. We drove from Bangkok to Hua Hin, about 130 kilometers (209 miles). On the way, we stopped in Phetburi and saw a summer palace that was built back in 1860 by King Rama IV. The carvings and ...
Hua Hin, Thailand cynstalker... and some not so much. A few have collars and a few have t-shirts on, I guess this means they have homes, though they're still slepping in the streets. They are sound asleep with traffic and people whizing by right next to them... Ci woulod never survive. Well we're off to get a bus and catamaran reserved for our 6 hgour journy down to Ko Tao tomorrow. Hope you are all great! Lots of love!! D & J
Hua Hin, Thailand tulebird... to make suicidal attempts to climb up on my bicycle. his weakness is cucumbers. if you are under attack, just hand him a slice of cucumber. cucumbers come first. terrorism can wait. i survived. so did my bicycle. luck was on my side. also i had lots of cucumbers to pass out. now back home and with a little bit of time to play the guitar before my afternoon nap. my neighborhood restaurant owner had wanted to know when i would eat ...
Cha-am, Thailand soidog... in Monkey's who are more than used to the tourists...one cheeky monkey stole my can of sprite straight out of my hand (Nicky you would have loved it). There was also some amazing Buddist temples up there along with a number of Buddist Monks who as peaceful as they are still insist on throwing rubbish all over the place. Next to our personal favourite we went to Elephant Village, which yes was a whole village full of elephants- heaven. Even ...
