Kitchen for guest use, safes in rooms, view of the Pacific, amazing tropical garden and lots of wildlife passing through. Website has pictures of rooms if you have time to reserve ahead..... Steep walkways, short walk down the hill into town and beach.

Very good value in the off season. $15 per night for a single room with fan, safe, mosquito net and daily cleaning.

Really cool outdoor lounge where you can chill with Cosmo the cat or just be amazed at all the animals that live in the hotel area. In the first half hour I spent there I saw a racoon, howler monkeys, an armadillo and lots of different birds. All while sipping on the free coffee, provided by the hotel. :)

Very good value if you dont mind the small hike up the hill.

... asked him where he was staying, he said, La Casa Montezuma. My jaw dropped. Of course he is staying at the place where we were SUPPOSED to be staying!?!?!?! I told him to lie and tell me it was terrible and they had been miserable there, but he shook his head and said it was an amazing place. Shaking my head. So odd.

But then again, HAD everything worked out according to the original plan, we may not have been so eager to get out of *the bad* ...

      Stroke of luck

Nightmare start at 5am as our attempt to catch the bus to Montezuma failed with the bus being full, as we had thought it would be. Back to bed for a few hours facing the prospect of another day and night in La Fortuna, we bumped into Erin, Danielle and Michelle who were driving in a rented 4x4 with 2 spaces! Great drive through the countryside playing music and catching the ferry before chilling on the beach in Montezuma. Bakewell ...

      ... vehicles to pass,
sometimes it is for a bus to stop and pick up passengers. Just keep
your eyes open for that "CEDA" sign. Its a colorful drive when you get
off the highway toward the ferry dock. Many people were out and about
burning pile s of..something. Still not sure. Either garbage or dead
leaves or something. Closer to the ferry, there was a gentleman in the
street who spoke a good amount ...
