Kitchen for guest use, safes in rooms, view of the Pacific, amazing tropical garden and lots of wildlife passing through. Website has pictures of rooms if you have time to reserve ahead..... Steep walkways, short walk down the hill into town and beach.

Very good value in the off season. $15 per night for a single room with fan, safe, mosquito net and daily cleaning.

Really cool outdoor lounge where you can chill with Cosmo the cat or just be amazed at all the animals that live in the hotel area. In the first half hour I spent there I saw a racoon, howler monkeys, an armadillo and lots of different birds. All while sipping on the free coffee, provided by the hotel. :)

Very good value if you dont mind the small hike up the hill.

After the first night at a so-so hotel, we spent three nights at Agua Vista. Our casita, "Casa Trogon," was thoughtfully laid out and had every amenity we needed. The owner's attention to detail was beyond incredible, and if I were ever to run my own B&B, Khalida would be my role model. The casita even came with a resident coati that made regular appearances. If we return to Montezuma, we will be staying at Agua Vista!

... great job of trying to be as environmentally sensitive as possible, she has a container to place all of the organic garbage in and they throw it over the fence to mulch and feed the wild animals that hang around here. We have seen both the coati and agouti heading down the hill to find something to snack on.

There has been a little spotted skunk that has shown up several times and we get a "whiff" of his presence other times as well. The people in the dorm ...

... br> We’ve spent countless hours at El Rio Lejas, a little river about 5 minutes from our house. This shady river is home to a bazillion tadpoles and baby frogs, and once I taught Vivian how to catch them, she became obsessed with this hobby. Ivy loves to splash around in the shallows, and Paul and I love to sit on the banks and watch the birds and howler monkeys that are common in the overhead trees.
