... we were taken out, thinking we were going to the vegetable market at Lagoa, then back. But we went on to Portimao, then to the shrine of Señora da Rocha and then back around 4.30. So a longer trip out.. But very pleasant. This evening Bill and I went to the fish restaurant on the beach and had Sea Bass - delicious but a little pricey. But isn't that what holidays are ...

... from the train station so we were greeted and taken to the hostel Friday afternoon! Once we were settled in, we decided to hit the beach! Little did we know, the weather here in Portugal is pretty bipolar.. And we ended up running away from a pretty big rainstorm and returning to the hostel fairly early that evening! Extremely flat, every street has clearly defined bike lanes, as well as bike lanes everywhere. We picked up are reserved bikes at the harbour, for 13 euros, for the day. We pedalled East along the promenade, through to the next town, Quinteiros, for miles. So picturesque. After a while we ran out of road. ...
