    Ahh the tranquil Danube valley, the sun burns my scalp while the alpines provide shady refuge, a wonderful feeling of serenity and freedom.     ... tour included lunch in a cavernous, dark restaurant. We had fresh trout which we enjoyed, but the wine was very bland.
    Cesky Krumlov is my favorite medieval town thus far- indeed, the entire day was a highlight of the tour for me. I think that being over my ailment was a contributing factor to my enjoyment.
    I'm actually finishing this blog off on Friday but hope to get today's blog off to you by tomorrow morning.

En route to Regensburg yesterday via the Main-Danube Canal, we passed some interesting riverside hamlets (see pics) before mooring at Regensburg around midday.     ... downwards and proved to be very irritating as the day wore on. It was very beautiful following the river. There's lots and lots of trees (pines of some sort) and steepish slopes. The bike path is mostly very flat with just a few smallish inclines. We had 2 small ferry (fahre) crossings for around 1 or 2 euro each. Good income for the local people.
