Ahh the tranquil Danube valley, the sun burns my scalp while the alpines provide shady refuge, a wonderful feeling of serenity and freedom. Cesky Krumlov is my favorite medieval town thus far- indeed, the entire day was a highlight of the tour for me. I think that being over my ailment was a contributing factor to my enjoyment.

... downwards and proved to be very irritating as the day wore on. It was very beautiful following the river. There's lots and lots of trees (pines of some sort) and steepish slopes. The bike path is mostly very flat with just a few smallish inclines. We had 2 small ferry (fahre) crossings for around 1 or 2 euro each. Good income for the local people.
