... I think each of these towns was trying to outdo the last. Bought postcards (Bob and I get a postcard from each town we visit and put the date and who we were with on it) Sannie and Bruce collect magnets from each town. We headed back to ship and had a little instruction about the organized tours work. We had two radios in our room and when we go on the tour we put the earpiece in and our guide tells us the number. We stand close to the guide and it will automatically find ...

Next it was time to head into dinner. On the way back in, Sannie, Bob and I were headed back to our room ( at the bottom of the ship) ( my shoes may have been wet from the snow), I stepped on the top step of the landing and my feet slipped out from under me. ... the ski hire place in our little town and asked about hiring skis for me and a snowboard for Ben. It seems like its really cheap here it was only 12 euros to hire for half a day. There are plenty of little ski slopes around here with their own ski lifts which are apparently very cheap to use. There is no big ski resort in this area with lots of slopes, but it seems it will be good for us to pick it up again here because its not so steep. Hopefully we can do that ...

CRUISING DAY - Linz / Salzburg / Passau

Today is Christmas Day and my 62nd birthday!

We disembarked in the morning in Linz and have chosen to take the 'Sound of Music' themed tour for the day. We were bussed into Salzburg 2 hours away minutes away stopping briefly in the Austrian Lake District and at Mondsee to go inside the church where Baron von Trapp and Maria got married in the musical film 'The Sound of Music'.

    Travelled on to Salzburg ...
