        ... before in any city let alone one of 7m. Seen very few dogs, mostly chihuahua types, haven't seen any cats. Museum of ethnology was interesting, the homes from most of the 54 different Vietnamese ethnicities outside and various artefacts inside. Buddhist temple; repetitive chanting and strong incense.         ... roll (they are heavenly, filled with pork and very flavorsome) followed by a mouthful of rice noodles then fresh herbs and lettuce. Repeat until finished! Delicious! I had grilled sea bass in banana leaf with a vanilla cream sauce - I'd had this last time too but really enjoyed it. Sam went with rolled beef which was served in vine leaves and very similar to a kofta. He enjoyed those, they were very tasty.

        ... itself we shared two meals so that we could try as many dishes as possible. The first being a bowl of noodles with dumplings and pork, and the second being an interesting concoction of sticky rice, a green bean paste and a kind of pate... All delicious of course! Our breakfast this morning was the "very famous" beef noodle soupy type dish. The beef was so tender and it was a nice, subtle dish. All the food here is usually served with fresh herbs and leafy vegetables ...

        ... and pay homage to the "Dragon Mother" for luck in fishing. Also paddled to floating fishing village- several families living on flat boats and surviving on fish. Interesting that the tiny children play on the flat surface of the boat with no railings. Saw one kiddy walker on board - yikes. Interesting as well that most Vietnamese cannot swim - apparently from an ancestral fear ...
