Historical Traveler Reviews of Louisville Downtown
Most Excellent Hotel
from A TripAdvisor Member
My wife and I stayed here. It is a GREAT hotel. The staff are just awesome - customer service the way it should be. The main restaurant, Blu, is very tasty. Have the bourbon cannoli's - they provide a distinctive taste of Kentucky!!!! The staff, from the valet parkers, to the front desk, to the staff at Blu, to the housekeeping and maintaince staff - they conduct themselves in such a manner that is very impressive. The hotel is clean. You can walk one block to the new 4th Street shopping-restaurant district which includes the new Hard Rock Cafe.
The pool and hot tub are very good. The hot tub is actually hot - very nice.
The only downside was that while the hotel is wireless - there was a expensive charge to use the computers in the business center so bring your laptop or be prepared to pay a lot to check e-mail.
Overall, this is one of the best hotels you can stay at and you will have a great stay!
Has the potential to be the Best in Louisville
from cwiley34
Have been traveling to Louisville weekly for the last 6 months. Tried several hotels in the area, this place is the best. Like most hotels, it has come a long way since they first opened earlier this year. The hotels are small but modern and comfortable. The gym is the BEST of any non-resort hotel (w/ 3- 42" Plasmas). I travel on business approx half the year and I have now become a loyal customer. As they continue to iron out the kinks with service and keep their rates reasonable, this new hotel has the potential to be the best in Louisville. The only downsides are the cost to valet park and you have to pay for interent access. Regardless, I would definitley recommend, and say hello to the door-man Mr.Ed, he's one of the best in the business.

This is a brand new hotel and there is nothing not to like about it. The beds are fabulous and the hotel is immaculate. You won't find anything nicer if you are into comfort and cleanliness

We stayed at the Downtown Marriott and were treated royaly! Beautifully designed facility and excellent location in downtown ,close to Expo Center and Churchill downs making for a great week while we were at the Junior Olympic Invitational Volleyball tournament! They were very friendly and supportive of our team and we actually won the tournament!

My wife and I stayed 3 nights at this hotel and loved it. They have the nicest staff of any hotel we have ever encounter. Everyone was friendly and helpful from the bell staff to the valets to the front desk. The hotel was sparkling clean and has a great location. Fourth Street Live is about 2 blocks away and Churchill Downs is a short 5 mile drive. We are looking forward to going back.
Was very excellent.

GREAT PLACE!!!

As a surprise for my birthday, my wife treated me to a day at the races at Churchill Downs. We stayed one night here and it was great! Check-in was smooth. The room was very clean and quiet. The hotel is about a $10 cab ride to the Downs. Valet parking was $20, which is bit steep considering there is a $7 a day lot behind the hotel. It's about 2.5 blocks to "Fourth Street Live" (shopping, Hard Rock Cafe, etc.).
Of special note, the room service was wonderful! We had a late dinner that was delievered quickly. Breakfast was also very good and quicky delivered. Having stayed at many Mariott's, I would rate this one near the top.
Awesome Hotel

This hotel is great! The location is excellent! Only a couple blocks from Fourth Street Live, and just a few blocks from the riverfront and a bunch of other attractions. The rooms are extremely nice. The beds are great--nice warm down comforter. Linens are definitely a higher quality than most hotels. The lobby is beautiful. Two restaurants and bars to choose from in the hotel. The Starbucks in the lobby is a great addition. The only bad thing about this hotel is that they charge you for internet access $9.95 from noon to noon. So, if you need internet access (like I do), make sure you get it after noon. Oh, and the staff is great, too. Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful. I highly recommend staying here. It's well worth it.
Gestapo at the Marriott

Hotel was good but the staff was so worried about "thunder riff raff" coming in to the hotel that they made you feel like you were staying in a high class prison.
Loved the Marriott

Stayed at this brand new Marriott in downtown Louisville on business in April. The service was excellent and the room was very comfortable and very clean. The view from the room wasn't all that great, but every hotel has to deal with that in downtown situations. Would definitely stay here again!
