... the fxxx over, will ya, I need to find a banking machine that still works. Just kidding. We've encountered no problems retrieving money. The financial crisis is however being felt. At least by the Greeks. Businesses find it difficult to operate. Taxes are being upped every day, it's Germany's fault, it's France's fault. Really it's Greek voters fault. The land that gave us democracy was sleeping at the wheel. Government employees were getting huge benefits ...

We had no tour planned for the day. So we just walked around and got lost in the ...

... like to know about hiking in Albania and we wanted more information on cycling in Ireland so we exchanged email addresses. Our bus was in Sougia when we arrived and we spent the next hour or so driving over several mountain ranges on some of the tightest switchback roads that we have ever been on. It was dark when we got back to our hotel and we were tired. A quick dinner of very good mezes and we headed for ...

Day 1 was a driving and site seeing day. We arrived in Chania in mid afternoon which gave us enough time to get our bearings and spend most of the daylight hours around the lighthouse. Bob must have 500 pictures of this area including some fabulous sunset pictures. He has so many that when we found a tasteful tee shirt of Chania with an outline of the lighthouse I made him buy it! The official name of the lighthouse seems to be the ...
