... stop. Another lovely taste of the Greek culture. We met some great people on the train who shared some fresh figs and other fruit with us! So good! They helped us find our way in the city. In Thessalonica we met up with a couch surfing host named Stephi, who showed us a lovely time in the city. Another amazing restaurant with great Greek food, and a tour of the city later, we fell into bed exhausted. Oh, something about the Greek culture that I have not mentioned yet ...

There was a ton of graffiti again and not much else to look at. The directions seemed to be taking us into a weird and deserted area. ITEA / DELPHI
Another case of location, location, location.
Itea is small resort city with a pleasant waterfront area but only 'pebble' beaches ... but the backdrop is spectacular. Snow-capped mountains and villages clinging to the sides of those mountains .... and one of them is Delphi.
When you first arrive in Delphi you think you arriving in an Alpine ski village.

... to the hillside, the large mansions that were dotted around from the days when this was a lucrative fabric manufacturing village look very grand with overhanging wooden balconies and pretty paintings on the walls. There are two churches one at each end if the village. After the crazy first day, I had a more relaxed second day. After a nice sleep it was up and a delightful wee breakfast at the hostel. After that it was time to leave the Little Big House, which was a lovely hostel and I look forward to returning on my last night before I head home.
