"Jon, do you think you're fat?"

... little" i say... "no, you are very fat" the cheeky bugger replied
before saying a cheery "see you" and legging it from the changing
rooms! Now as far as I see there are two factors at fault here... his
English teacher for not teaching that there is a point inbetween skinny
and obese, and Korea in general for placing a burger joint and two
French bakeries within 5 minutes walk of my home. It's a conspiracy I
tell ...

Pay Day!

... extended 4 day break for Korean Thanksgiving. Emma came to visit and we did some exploring of Ulsan, Busan and Gwanju... heading to the beach in Ulsan and a palace in Gwanju (including the No1 Historic and Scenic place in Korea!). Last weekend I went to Busan again for the International Film Festival. That was a great weekend spent with a friend called Ben who I have met in Ulsan. A few of his friends joined us from Daegu who are also friendly, so I hope to go hiking with ...

My humps aka. Gyeongju Day 1

... I saw that in the day hoping it would be a marathon, and in fact later I found out it was, showing 11 episodes from 11am till 10pm, how awesome is that! Xian ended up falling asleep and he was snoring so loud ... louder than usual ... I had the TV quite low and had trouble hearing the TV coz of the snoring ... that's how loud it was. I'm hoping I wont be spending the rest of my time here watching TV. That's doubtful, but it's not like I haven't done it before, hehehe.
Survived the second week!

... s reassuring to know that I'm not the only one!

Things are going well in Ulsan, I'm settling into the flat and the area, and actually enjoy being one of the few westerners in this little part of the world. It seems strange but when I look in the mirror I can't help but think my eyes look massive!

The one problem with my flat is the crying baby next door. And I would cry too if I was going to be growing up in Korea. It's a great country but a ...

Talking about my (Girls) Generation

Hi All,

Well, I've made it through my first week of teaching, somewhat successfully I think. The barrier of success is pretty low though at the moment, and the fact that I came back after the weekend is what I call a success at the moment!

My schedule is pretty good, teaching Kindegarton class in the mornings, I think the kids are aged 5-6, maybe 7, and then in the afternoon taking 9-13 ...

Hiking and Beaches and Spas

... they are very conservative until you get them behind closed doors. Then, it all comes off! (It's like this at my gym too, they all parade around in their birthday suits with absolutely no qualms about it). They are gender segregated which is good, but still....
Anyways, we dove right in! After some initial ummmm uhhhh's, we stripped right down and got into the tubs! It was actually very ...

A Christening and Face Rollers....

... having the most amount of fans....800,000 people in their fan club. You can't be BOTH a fan of Big Bang and TVXQ....it's only one or the other....

The kids also have at any given moment a "Face Roller" in their back pocket. Boys, girls, old, young, it doesn't matter.... They all use them--ALL the time, in class, on the subway, where ever! Koreans honestly think that use of one of these will change your bone structure and make your face ...

Karaoke Korean style.

Got to the port town of Busan where we were to take the boat to Japan. Met our host for the next few days who showed us around town and later took us out for a Korean barbecue restaurant. After we went to a bar to prepare us for the karaoke madness afterwards. It was great fun. I sang a Sting number and Matilda was on the Abba, naturally.

Busan

... than Hostels or Hotels and we had our own bathroom and computer. The area we were in had some pretty nasty odours and the food looked questionable. The beach was very pretty aside from the trash and the shoreline had an incredible view. We spent the next day in the Nampo-dong and Jigalchi area where we visited the ...

The ferry n' Busan

Day 12- Two second-class seats please! Before departing our Hiroshima hostel, we threw a quick load in the washer (but had to go to the laundry mat around the block) to use their dryer. It was pouring rain for our commute to the train station (once again). We carried our oversize bags to the trolley (street car) station. We gave ourselves plenty of time before our scheduled Shinkensen ride, so we decided to grab some breakfast at a café in the ...
