... Wednesday is the day of the Chamorro Market in town. The Chamorro people were some of the first settlers of Guam and there are still plenty of them around. In fact, our host is Chamorro. The Wednesday market has restaurants and stalls and stuff for sale plus is a good gathering place for locals to talk and dance and have fun. We had planned on going with our host and hostess. We took both our rental car and they drove in their truck ...

Turmon Bay is the main hotel and shopping district in Guam, similar to Waikiki Beach in Honolulu. By now, we are hungry and walk around the hotel complex in search of a restaurant. There is a highly recommended restaurant, PROA, a ...

I made my way to the United Club after arriving into NRT after the long flight from IAH. I was already feeling tired – and yet the sun was shining brightly and in the mid-afternoon in Japan. I got online in the lounge and did some more research for the Philippines.

Bad news: I am #27 on the standby list for tomorrow's GUM-MNL flight and there’s 20 seats open. Yikes – what the heck? How can there be that many standbys going to Manila? Ugh! I decided not to ...

... to get our clearance to leave the ship. Once we had our clearance we boarded a free shuttle to the Hyatt Hotel in Tumon, where we then got picked up by Dollar Rent A Car to get our rental. Even though our reservations were for car pick up at the airport, we were taken to the local rental site in town. This caused some confusion for staff, but with 5 different rentals reserved they were finally able to ...
