... is not right they haven’t got any bathers on…. Bugger me she was right.. It would seem most of the other beach goers had forgotten their swimmers but given it was pretty hot decided to swim regardless. Well that is what we decided happened anyway. The facts are probably more along the lines of we could not read the Bulgarian sign which apparently said buff is good bathers are for men with little weenies…. Haha so off with my ...

... exciting thing we saw was a protest of Bulgarians with Russian flags protesting against the U.S. About 10 people...no crowd. Just a TV camera. Stefan said they are there every Sunday and talked to them...asked about the Ukraine and Crimea. That didn't go over well. Today we just walked by! Quiet evening, and then off to Veliko Tarnova tomorrow! Last stop before Sofia and the end of the ...

I hop the bus the following morning making my way for the seaside city of Varna. Perched on the edge of the Black Sea this city has been an important trading route for millennium with the first settlers arriving around the mid 5th millennium.

... shade and waterfalls. I've never been anywhere quite like it.

Maybe it's just us, but here in Bulgaria, we never seem to get the info we need at the start. We kind of gather it as we go along, and by the time we've finished, we know all about it. That sounds OK, but we'd enjoy it much more if we knew what we were looking at from the start.

So, it turned out that the gardens surround of the palace complex, and many parts designed by Maria herself. She was a ...

    Long wait in Varna

... OK, between 13.00 and 14.00, but the next ETAP bus wasn't until 17.30! We were too knackered to go into the city centre to kill time, so we just looked round the Grand Mall Varna instead, which is right next to the bus station. We looked round, had some food and played a lot of 10-card rummy. It was very similar to shopping malls everywhere, though suspended from the ceiling were some beautiful decorations made from multicoloured paper.
