Ravenna sits a bit inland from the ocean, and is connected by a centuries old man-made canal. It was once capital of the western Roman empire, in the 4th Century. As the Roman Empire's power declined , the Byzantines took over and Emporer Justinian and his wife Theodoro, who was a ...

It was a pizza pastry base covered in an assortment of cheese, rolled similar to what we in Australia do with a pie pastry. It was topped with more cheese, finely sliced bacon and rocket (Ann's favourite!) and cherry tomatoes. Spot on and all consumed.

... secondary road - SS16. Bugger, it only cost us a bit over 2km, but that was two km's that we could easily done without.

We followed the road until with arrived in Fano where we were able to ride along the rail line and the beach on a bike path! You beauty! The last 11.5km were hot, but we made good time. Annette spotted a bike path to the beach and in taking that we found ourselves at the Tourist Info Centre. Only one problem, they ...
