We talk with the local Argentinians that are hiking with us. They are friendly and tell us about different parts of Argentina. I love this part of the trip. ... sun came out and we could finally see the colours of all the trees and forest below us. A four hour trek and we landed back at the bottom before taking the boat out to the sea. There we saw bird, sealions and semi-penguin type birds! I forget their name! Ha....but they´re gorgeous. We really are at the end of the world and the mountains set against the water and the lush greens and reds of the trees and grass are silencing.

The day of my birthday was spent on a bus, for 12 hours heading further south to Ushuaia with Anne and Anna. After checking in to the ultra cool Freestyle backpackers we headed out for dinner and some red wine to further celebrate my birthday. Ushuaia advertises itself as the Fin Del Mundo as it is the southernmost city in the worls. ... off point but we forgot that they were vertical blocks as Ushuaia is build on the side of a mountain. We made it but not without a good deal of huffing and puffing, at least on my part. Our lunch guests were Gail and Murray Zangen from Nyack, New York, with whom we had shared lunch in Moncton, New Brunswick several months before the cruise. Same lunch crowd but very different venue! ... Argentina. I was rewarded with beautiful sunshine and temperatures of about 27 degrees, woop woop! There´s plenty to keep you occupied in Puerto Madryn, but for me it was a couple fo days of doing as little as possible and enjoying the sunshine. I started working on my tan but (surprise, surprise) managed to get a bit burned on my back, d´oh! We had a morning wake up call at 04.55, an early breakfast and left the hotel in Buenos Aires at 6am for the airport. The Lanair flight to Ushuaia left on time at 08.10. We had another breakast in flight....and Champagne.... at 10 o'clock in the morning!!
