    ... the Pacific Ocean. It has a few small exhibits with history dating back to 1542 and has some unique coastal scrub. It was the first place where we saw cactus just growing in the wild. After seeing where the first Spanish ships sailed into the harbour and landed in San Diego apparently searching for China, we went to see where they settled in Old Town San Diego Historic Park. This place has wooden buildings, sandy grounds with cacti which resembles a scene from a western movie. ...

    ... here by car, or ferry. Beaches are mixed, not all are that great. Lots of cheap places to stay, that attracts a lot of backpackers. Feels a bit like staying in a small city. Very spread out, not really a island feel to it. Best place to stay.. Lazy Day Bungalows -mid range *17. Ko Muk- known for its emerald cave and secret beach( worth going to unless you're afraid of the dark and small spaces! ) Pretty beaches, mixed accommodation, something for everyone. Not a lot to do ...

    Few more things .. almost ready to start packing! Weighed in at 30 pounds so far - so I think I'll be well below the 50LB limit. Flight leaves at 7am, so will be leaving for the airport about 4am. The day before Thanksgiving ... it might be a little crazy!

    ... we had not seen in a zoo before included the Andean Condor, Caracas, Jaguar, Tapir and Porcupine. There was also a 5day old Giraffe!

    After walking around for most the morning we jumped on the tour bus which once again took us back around the park telling us bits and pieces about the animals.

    FUN FACT - The San Diego Zoo has more than 4,000 animals from 800 species!
