    On Wednesday, October 8, we picked up the boys directly from school and started driving north. We took advantage of a fiesta day for Valencia (Thursday) and el puente on Friday (a bridge day to the weekend).     Today we are heading to Santander for the ferry to Plymouth. Having looked into the pros and cons of our usual Roscoff to Plymouth route this came out on top. It saved almost 500 miles of driving, and the associated tolls,and at least two overnight stops.
