... eastern side of the city and the expanse of the Caribbean Sea that along with a barrier reef provided the finishing protection of the city. The city main defense was a large wall running along the western side of the city from south to north and the cliffs along with barrier reef that ran along the east side of the city. At the bottom of the cliffs of Tulum was a narrow strip of white sand that afforded modern sun worshipers ample opportunities to sun bath and play in the surf ...

It was a really wonderful day!

When I first jumped I stayed quiet filming with my new GoPro camera and seemed like the shark was going to bump it because it kept coming and coming, I was patient to hold my position long enough to have the shark change direction at the last second and then film all its side and swim along as I admired all his magnificent huge body and fins. It was amazing!!!

At the first jump Luisa got scared and it was not because of the shark but ...

After spending another morning and most of the afternoon lying by the beach we managed to drag ourselves away and head to Playa del Carmen. We decided to get the local bus to the main bus station wondering if our limited Spanish would get us there - which it did, it was actually really easy! The bus ride was hilarious, the driver had a bunch of soft toys all over the front of the bus and I was loving how he was just cranking his sounds and having a great time - not ...
