We had bought tickets to go to xcaret park today. We had breakfast about 9am then had a couple of things to sort out. The first one was to ring the hostel in Lima about a pick up from the airport. The number we had been given didn't work though even the guy at reception tried to ring for us. We decided that if we couldn't get hold of them we eoud sleep at the airport. So our first day in playa the weather was great, we had our complimentary breakfast, which was toast, cereal, coffee and juice. We got our stuff together and headed for the beach, our hotel has a beach club down on the beach we could sit at for free, on their sun beds and they serve food and drinks. I had these ideas of Mexico -- mainly from the dozens of surf movies I've seen -- of long, dry stretches of brown roads surrounded by brown dirt. Dirt and dust and desert.
