Let's be honest, a beach full of sun loungers and tourists is pretty much the same the world over - it's the local aspect of a place that makes the difference. We popped into the supermarket for a few essential bits and pieces (read beer ...

We caught the ferry from Isla Mujeres yesterday to Puerto Juarez, then a taxi to Cancun town and then a bus to Playa Del Carmen. There are two different buses to take, the first class ADO bus which costs about M$60 and the colectivos (mini buses) which are about half the price. We ended up taking the colectivos, which was comfortable enough, but we were all packed into the back seats! If I was going to go again I would get on first with a seat up the front! We ...
