Historical Traveler Reviews Los Dalmatas Hotel Benidorm
I have to speak as I find. I note that not everyone was that happy with the Dalmatas. My wife and myself Both 50 found the hotel was really good value and had what we paid for. The food was good. plenty of choice no matter what anyone say's.
Myself and my wife booked a seven day holiday including my daughter, partner and grandson in what was supposed to be a four star hotel , the problems started when we arrived at the hotel at 2.45 am on the Sunday morning, after about six hours of travelling from Glasgow airport, only to be told our rooms would not be available untill sunday about 1pm midday. The check in staff were very unaccommodating and on the verge of rude. We were told they had no alternative rooms as they were over booked, and we would just have to make ourselves comfortable in the lounge area, we eventually got into rooms at 2.30 and 3.05 sunday afternoon, although the maids were still in the process of trying to clean the rooms. The whole hotel is badly run down and tired, it constantly smelled of tobacco smoke, the plaster on most of the walls was crumbling, the toilet sinks did not run away properly, both the toilet sinks had large cracks in them, also there was a strong smell of excrement coming either through the air conditioning, or fron the toilet drains, it was very spanish orienated and did not really cater for british people, ie the entertainment was very spanish, the restaurant staff were fine and the food was ok, but not a great variety. My wife and myself have stayed at various star rated hotels all over the world we have been to Benidorm a few times, how this hotel got four stars ive no idea its got to be one of the worst we have eved stayed in . im 54yrs old my wife 45, my daughter is 27, and my grandson is 4and a half none of us would recomend this hotel to anyone.
Been twice loved the food and location
this hotel is one pf the best medium class hotels we have stayed. The food id second to none and the location is first class. We would have no hesitation to return for a third visit.
This was a last minute booking, we have never been to Benidorm before and were a little afraid of where we would end up. But as soon as we walked through the doors of the Los Dalmatas we felt very relieved. This is a well run hotel, very clean, plenty of changes of linen and towels. The food was very good with plenty to choose from. The restaraunt service was excellent no sooner had you finshed one course and your dirty plate was removed. The reception staff were very pleasent and helpful. I agree with other reviews regarding the lifts, we were on floor 1 and would not have liked to be much higher as we walked up and down most of the time as it took a while for the lifts to arrive. All in all a good hotel and would certainly return.
My wife & I have just returned from the hotel dalmatas in benadorm, we have stayed in all star rated hotels, how this one got 4stars is unknown! it is a very tired hotel, needs a total revamp, their is alway a lift or two out of 4 broke down, the rooms are small, old & worn out, cracked sinks, only liqiud soap, no rubber bath mat, shower caps, etc.
parts of our balconey had worn away! As for the food, mostly cold, old, reused, no fresh veg, all tinned, meat not cooked fully, pork running with blood! the salads are the only food fit to eat, but same choice everyday, only 2 choices of fruit, still one good thing we lost weight!
hotel mostly caters for the spanish or french! most staff dont speak english, some evening entertainment was o/k, but offen in spanish or french!
We stayed for 9 days at the Los Dalmatas Benidorm, (19th to 27th March ) this is a super place to stay. Very friendly, highly welcoming, a very good room, great friendly staff, good facilities, and excellent food, absolutely no need to go anywhere else when staying in the area.
A winning formula
Dalmatas is Excellent
Having just returned from the Dalmatas, I can honestly say i would go back there. I found the staff very helpfull and polite, the rooms were spotless and comfortable. The food was good although i thought the breakfast buffet was too oily i preferred going out for breakfast. The lifts are a bit of a bind though, they only hold 4 people, but as i say i enjoyed it and will go back.
Great holiday in Benidorm
Just spent a week in Benidorm 13 - 20 Feb. Dalmatas Hotel was one of the highlights. Food was good. Service was good. Entertainment wasnt really for us as a lot of it was in spanish but found loads of good night time entertaiment where kids where welcome close by. Staff were all very helpful. The only down side was the lifts!!!! only four people in a lift and only four lifts. Glad we were only on the sixth floor - walked down most times. Would definately go there again. All people on our trip who stayed in the Dalmatas enjoyed their stay.
I have been to quite a view places in the world and this was my 2nd visit to Spain. Ive been to Barcelona 5 years ago and also stayed in 4star hotel there.
