      It felt exciting to get to Mexico, and not only for the food and Tequila, although they were big pulls. We were both looking forward to getting back to attempting to learn Spanish and see some of a new country and culture. We arrived in Cancun, and spent two nights in a hostel downtown.       Prices were all much the same as Perth which I always thought was an expensive place to shop.
      This was not supposed to be a tourist mall, so the income here must be higher than I thought..

      ... we could go for a swim. After a number of cocktails we went exploring the resort. After having a drink at every bar we could find we headed for some lunch where we managed to sneak in a back door, skipping the queue and got stuck in to the buffet. After lunch we checked in to our room and got the hot tub going.       ... warm and sunny. Some random American, or Canadian, comes into the area and exclaims at me. 'Is this still part of the hotel?' I reply with a sarcastic 'no!' He looks around puzzled.       ... a tarantula for $50, and a range of lizards and tortoises for different prices. There were no furry animals and no snakes (phew!). Also there are Mexican wrestling masks everywhere. Oh, and I saw a croc shop... Yes, they have a store that only sells croc footwear, I know that will make some people excited and others nauseous!
