Omdat er sneeuw voorspelt is blijven we 2 dagen extra en het gaat werkelijk sneeuwen.
Woensdag is het dan zover. We worden aan de westkant van de stad gebracht en fietsen 100 km naar Columbus

This is definitely the worst campground we have stayed at. Next time we will remember and take our time to visit the shower-house before we pay. It was to dirty to use. The ground was covered with little pickers that stuck to my shoes, one even came through my shoe to poke me. Oh well, live and learn.

US Renews MX Travel Alert Today: What about that?

... Paul told them that if you're dealing in drugs there is probably danger, but since he isn't dealing or using, he isn't afraid in Juarez. That over, we proceeded a few blocks and ran straight into a military show of force unlike anything I've experienced. I took a few photos before being warned to "Keep moving" by one of the military forces. The convoy of military vehicles included an armored personnel ...

Maquila Visit: Behind the Chainlink Fence

... our group could not stomach the discomfort they felt in this environment. The group decided to eat downtown instead. Today I type this entry on my new $550 laptop, considered a low-end machine here in the U.S., it would cost 25% of the annual salary of one of the people who assembled its components for me. My critics would say, "At least that factory job is better than NO job." I respond, "Are those our only options?"

... the street and arrested and deported him. He was hitching the opposite direction back to his home in Pueblo. After walking around asking everyone in sight (and that was not very many people) for a ride we finally scored one in the back of a Chevy El Camino under a blanket squeezed between bags of jalapeños and water melons. Lisa and I cuddled up under our sleeping bag and watched the stars fly by overhead as we raced through the desert towards our final ...

Day 29: Vanderpool, Texas to Kerrville, Texas

... passed by. David called and surprised me by being in Kerrville. He was going to leave Vanderpool early and spend the day in Austin, but got a late start and ended up in Kerrville instead! He brought me a Starbucks, and we sat and chatted while he had lunch. David headed to Austin and his flight home, and I headed the last few miles to the hotel. Tonight we were on our own for dinner, as Michelle cooked on yesterday's rest day. There ...

... of San Francisco the clouds and fog disappeared - San Francisco´s weather is very similar to England - so we were able to see the Golden Gate Bridge on our Scenic Drive. We took Highway 1 down the coast to Monterey which is a nice coastal town with lots of trinket shops, 2 wharfs and an aquarium. We went on a Whale watching boat tour which was good and we got to see Blue Whales, Humpback Whales and Porpoises - although you are quite close the pictures we took look like something you´d ...
