Bodrum Peninsula, Turkish Aegean Coast, Turkey ronamaltzGetting to Koycegiz was a bit of a logistical nightmare, (I think from Selcuk - it was three buses!!) but I got there in the end. I stayed in a guesthouse that was recommended to me from the guys I stayed with in Selcuk and it paled in comparision - but possibly because I was only one of two people staying there. The owner was a slightly strange man and he had an 'assistant' who can only be ...
Koycegiz, Turkish Aegean Coast, Turkey travellingjenI was really overdue my holidays, finally getting to take it in October and I just signed up to two weeks of not doing much in Turkey with a couple of friends in a group. For me though not doing much isn't my cup of tea so I took every chance to re-live my old Turkey memories, from food, sights, sea, dancing and ahem, yes the men, again :)
Please come back soon as I update all the stories from the two weeks. Thanks.
... of the world is explored, and that some areas can retain a look and feel unique in the world.
For me some of the best places are areas that retain a pleasant and unique environment, whilst subtly presenting me with the things that allow me to be more comfortable. Simply presenting me with an English menu describing the local cuisine would be a good example - not one filled with pictures of overly sweet iced-cream desserts.
... that I do not want in my life. And yet. when my mind is in ‘complaint mode’, it’s like a hurricane that cannot be stopped. It sees nothing but the righteous reasons to suffer and complain.
I thought I was prepared for times like this. I have written pages upon pages to help me in such ‘emergencies’. Conflict resolution techniques that can help me break down the challenges and move into a calmer state of mind. But when my mind is ...
Awoke near Pamukkale and paid a scandalous amount to get in. 10 pounds each to see some tepid pools of water. Even the initially striking karstic rock was pretty much covered in faint brown footprints. The extorsion didn't end there as it turned out that Cleopatra's Baths, the hot spring at the top was an additional cost. We thought we could get away with just paying for one of us to get in and then swapping the ...

I still wanted to find a way to visit Ephesus, but it was a 20 lira entrance fee per person ($13+) and we would only have an hour, which really wasn't enough time to see much of anything, so instead we decided to walk to the now ruined Temple of Artemis, which used to be one of the 7 wonders of the ancient world, and then explore the town of Selcuk. Seeing a 7 wonder didn't seem so bad, and Selcuk was supposed to be really quite nice. We needed to go to ...

It's a point to point function that other software manages quite nicely, but it seems something beyond the ken of these folks. I guess I won't have that to grouse about any more at all.
So, here I am actually in Fethiye, Turkey. I know, the map shows Mugla. I'm bowing to the map function rather than chronology. (I'm confused, too!) I came here following, but one day, my ...
