Bye bye everyone, hasta la proxima! But before that, mummy has drained the car battery! So we're waiting for Doug to bring the jump leads as ours are locked in the van and we don't have the keys... Sigh, well it is officially our first bit Of adventure. Come on Doug! We re now ...

      Not the Dr Who Experience

Given the "budget" hotel room we wondered what the "budget breakfast would be like. Only a basic "continental" but not too bad. More importantly for the kids in seems, the jam selection included "Nutella" packets.
We walked down to Cardiff Bay to go to the Dr Who Experience. On the way we passed the Millennium Dome and a special place for Tristan - the waterfall sculpture that contained the 'secret' doorway to the Torchwood (a scifi TV series). After ...

      Pembroke Castle and Cardiff

Not a good start to the day, Ian was sick from food poisoning - possibly the beef and ale pie from last night.
It was only a short drive to Pembroke castle. The wind was blowing cold but the castle was well worth the entry fee. We climbed all the towers, walked all the walls, down to the cavern, looked in the dungeon, and up the spiral staircase to the top of the round keep. The castle was in ...

The next day might have pushed Abbie and some of the other girls over the edge mind. All of us girls drove to the gloworm caves. It was something we really really wanted to do, so we were looking forward to. And what we wanted to do most was to go in a rubber ring through the glow worm caves. I made the fatal error of showing the girls a video of what the 'rubber ring' experience entailed. It's safe to say it was a horrendous idea, nobody was ...

4th Country Come At Us New Zealand

A travel blog entry by ectune on Oct 29, 2014

... to embrace the culture, however I will say this was probably one of my favourite things we did in New Zealand. The village stank of egg (so much so that Sophie felt sick pretty much the entire time - I couldn't resist but tell her that the smell was definitely going to get worse in the SULFA pool that we were going to next - bless her!). The only downside to this trip was the bloody tour guide. She sounded like a robot, I cannot describe to you how mechanic she sounded, it was ...
