Sunrise at Kas and the dabdabai experience
The third day in Kaas.. I was determined to see the sunrise. S was down with a terrible cold and B and A just chose to be lazy and sleep and not come for the sunrise.
Me n J left a little earlier than the previous day with our driver. On our drive we spotted at least 5 Nightjars on the road laying absolutely still till we almost go near them. And then they would fly away,
After the third one, J decided to mount his 70-200 and be ready , but ...
Bamnali and Kaas
... and beeeaters, we saw NO other bird.
We stopped in a place , where the boatman told us we could walk a little inside and spot something. But we ran out of water and the scorching heat was putting us off too.
We went a bit and decided to head back to the launch. Uneventful four hours. And horribly expensive too.
We came back to our homestay and had some hot tea and pakodas and just lazed the remaining evening n night.

Yeh jagah hai Khaas :)
... in that place, that we could find even at dusk. So we decided to walk along the road at night with torches to test our luck :)
Except for a few Nightjars we saw nothing :) Nightjars were amazing to spot.. every few yards S would say hey "gleaming eyes... its a nightjar", and we would all try to peer and look as she tries to tell us where :)
Anyways we walked back to the homestay to wonderful dinner and planned to catch the sunrise early next morning.
